OneConsent Joins PHDCCI Seminar on DPDP Compliance: From Policy to Practice

New Delhi, August 21, 2026 — PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) hosted a seminar titled "DPDP Compliance: From Policy to Practice" at PHD House, New Delhi, bringing legal experts, corporate leaders and technology practitioners together to examine India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and its implications for businesses. The Corporate Affairs Committee of PHDCCI organised the seminar as part of the Third Edition of its Knowledge Series on Corporate Affairs 2026-27. The session addressed a question Indian enterprises are working through now: how to convert DPDP Act requirements into working, auditable compliance programmes before the law's operational deadlines arrive. 

A Regulatory Milestone Discussed in Practical Terms 

Dr. Pavan Duggal, Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, attended as Guest of Honour. He addressed the shift organisations need to make: from documented privacy policies to demonstrable data protection practices, accountability structures and trust-building measures suited to an AI-driven digital ecosystem. 

Mr. Satwinder Singh, Chair of the Corporate Affairs Committee, PHDCCI, delivered the Theme Address on building compliance frameworks under the DPDP Act and Rules that hold up as enforcement mechanisms take shape. Mr. Mohit Luthra, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI, delivered the Opening Remarks. Mr. Sumant Nayak, Co-Chair of the Corporate Affairs Committee, proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Rishi Kapoor, Co-Chair of the Corporate Affairs Committee, moderated the technical sessions. 

The expert panel included Mr. Thomas Vallianeth, Partner at Trilegal; Mr. Prashant Phillips, Executive Partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan; Mr. Amit Thareja, Head of the Legal Department at Patanjali Foods Ltd; and Mr. Soumya Chatterjee, Co-Founder and CEO of OneConsent. Sessions covered data mapping, consent architecture, data governance, lawful processing, purpose limitation, data minimisation, security safeguards, vendor governance, breach response, cybersecurity and technology-enabled accountability.
